/// Support in the current Covid-19 pandemic situation: Emergency loans ///
Under the current circumstances of the Covid-19 situation we would like to emphasize our existing offer of loans as an emergency support of the “Darlehens- und Stipendienfonds” of the University of St.Gallen. Students who are in pressing financial straits can be granted a one-off loan. The applicants’ and their parents’ financial and familial situation is, as hitherto, essential and decisive. You can find the application form in the student portal Compass (category "requests").
Despite the increasing number of students, the total number of cantonal scholarships in Switzerland has declined by 25%. The scholarships rarely cover monthly costs and, depending on the income of parents, typically only cover a portion of the study costs. For this reason, many students take a part-time job. In addition to job income, students must often seek other financial means.
An investment in your personal development
A degree is also an investment in your personal development and in the future. The financial aspect therefore should not be the only factor when deciding to begin or continue studies. Higher education is also subsidised by the Swiss government, resulting in low tuition fees.
We are happy to provide you with comprehensive information about the options for financing your studies. These include existing financing options as well as information about budgeting and ways to reduce your living costs.
We wish you all the best for your studies!
